A child's porcelain thimble with primroses. c1860An unmarked, small porcelain thimble hand painted with yellow flowers primroses and with gold lines top and bottom. C1860. Just under 2cm tall Finger aperture 14mm (it fits my little finger) In good condition. Stock no. G10
It is made of turned bone (close up photos of the material show it is not ivory) and has a blank silver matrix
It is inscribed 'Mer de Glace' which is a valley glacier in the Chamonix valley in France
