They have thinner shanks to fit into 80's Japanese lathes made by Hara, Van Rock, and Atom. This product is for the Thin Shank variety. Short Shanks for Grampian, Audax, Presto 5C, Mag, Fairchild, RCA, Olsen Short Thin Shanks for 80s Japanese lathes (Hara, Van Rock, Atom, etc) that may require a thinner shank Long Shanks for Presto 1c, 1d
