into which I carved a bark texture

I hand-painted the glaze two-thirds of the way down the form to allow the the speckles within the clay to show

As the charms are handmade

I threw the form on the wheel while gently encouraging a flared rim

This bowl is thrown on the wheel then bisqued in an electric kiln

and formed handles to adhere to the casserole
